Should You Have An Engagement Session?
If you're wondering why everyone is having engagement sessions then you've come to the perfect place. I've outlined a few reasons why an engagement session is an essential first step in your wedding planning process.
You Get To Make More Beautiful Memories With Your Partner
You and your partner have decided to say I do forever. This is a fun, exciting and magical time in your life. Every single new memory, fun moment and “first” is one to be cherished.
Your engagement session is no exception. During every engagement session with me, couples leave with their cheeks hurting from laughing and smiling so much. I make sure couples relive beautiful moments from the past like their first date, the moment they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and of course the engagement.
Bottom line- ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS ARE FUN!
You Get To Know Me As Your Wedding Photographer
One of the most nerve racking things after your wedding is wondering if the photos turned out well.
When you opt in for an engagement shoot with me as your wedding photographer its kind of like a trial run. You get to see how I interact with you, how much fun we have together and, most importantly, the quality of work I provide you.
Getting back beautiful photos that are indicative of your personality really puts your mind at ease on the wedding day, you already know I will do a great job for you.
Perfect Practice For The Wedding
We touched upon this a little bit in the last point, but having an engagement session is the perfect wedding day practice.
Most people have not had professional photos taken in a more candid and photojournalistic setting. Getting comfortable in front of the camera is easier said than done, but with the proper guidance and a bit of reassurance you’ll be a pro in no time!
During your session I give you some tips and tricks to help you both during the engagement session and on the wedding day. You will be confident and comfortable.
Learn What You Like
Recently I received an inquiry from a lovely woman for an engagement session. She explained that she had worked with a photographer in the past few weeks and was so disappointed with what she received back.
Had she just hired that photographer on blind faith for her wedding she would have been very very sad when she got back her wedding photos.
Luckily, she decided to have an engagement session or a “trial run” and learned that their styles were not in sync. This was huge!
By having an engagement session you are also figuring out what you do and do not like. This is also the perfect opportunity to speak to me as your photographer with some of your requests and questions. The more I can answer for you before the wedding, the better.
Great Way To Get Perfect Save The Dates Photos
Save the dates are super important for couples. You want a cute photo to use on the cards or magnets that will be displayed in your guests homes for the nest year until your wedding.
For that reason alone professional photos are a must!
Save the dates should be rectangular with enough space on one side for you to put all of your important wedding information.
I actually LOVE creating photos for save the dates. All of your friends and family is going to see this picture and KNOW that your wedding photos will be awesome!
